After my interview with Miss China Upshaw, I am now looking at L.A. Hair with new eyes. In last night’s episode, Kim Kimble has a surprise… She takes her mom Jasmine to the construction of the new Kim Kimble Hair Studio because the old one is now becoming too cramped especially with China now permanently in the picture.
Back at the old studio, Anthony, still pissed about the “receptionist” argument with China from the last episode, decides to overbook China with another client while China is still doing someone’s hair. So Angela steps in and helps China out by taking in the other client who happens to be an actress who was on the movie Notorious.
China’s original client needed her hair re-colored, and Terry steps in to offer his “advice.” After China finishes, the client pulls Terry to the side and tells him that she doesn’t like what China did. And China overhears her. So finally, the client tells China she wants her hair pinned up more, and China does it. But she’s angry about the situation because how the client and Terry went about it.
Kim has two assignments in this episode. She has been chosen to style Miss Piggy for the Academy Awards. The next is that she has to style for a photo shoot for Mikki Taylor, beauty editor-at-large for Essence Magazine and Kevin Hall, a fashion designer. She decides to use the assistance of all of the stylists, except Anthony.
The next day, Anthony finds out about the photo shoot, and he is upset that he did not know anything about it. So of course, he becomes defensive and starts an argument with… who else? Miss China. Kim is tired of the bickering, and she tells them to stop calling Anthony childish. (Finally, put him in his place.) He vents to Kim that he is frustrated because he is a stylist and is not learning anything. But Kim tells him that he has to show her and prove to her that he can be a team player first.
I’m glad that Kim finally told Anthony what the real was! He is trifling, sneaky, underhanded, and Kim had it right when she said he is very, very childish. Why would you overbook China on purchase? And sir, you are the receptionist. That’s your role right now! Suck it up, and do what you need to do! When you work hard, you will be rewarded.
Anthony is on the same boat with me as Angela… Fall back! And Terry… sir, come on please. Your input is not needed for everything.
It’s like when you talking with someone, they constantly feel like they have to give you their opinion… No! I don’t need your mouth; I need your ears… That’s what Terry does. I liked Terry at first, but he’s starting to kinda irritate me just a little bit.
Dante…. he’s the life of the party! He’s calm, he’s chill… I like him. And of course, I love China! She keeps it real and she plays no games! And Kim Kimble… I want to meet her. She just seems like this big ball of positive energy, and like I said to China in our interview, her positivity and her ambition just exudes over the airwaves.
But I am definitely ready for next week. In next week’s episode, Kim is going out of town, and she puts China in charge! Yes! This is gonna be great! I told y’all China is shaking things up, and it looks like it is well overdue.
